While Maryland may be one of the smaller geographical states in the union, it doesn't mean it has nothing to offer in terms of day tripping destinations. In fact, the contrary is true, so for those Herb Gordon Nissan customers living in and around Columbia, MD and looking for a few fun road trips nearby for their Nissan vehicles this vacation season, we offer up the following in-state suggestions for quick and scenic drives:

One of the most photogenic cities on the East Coast, Annapolis offers colorful buildings, cobblestone streets, and lovely little restaurants and shops happy to give you a break from the chains and franchises you typically frequent.

Ocean City

The ten-mile stretch of beaches at Ocean City are great, but the boardwalk is just as much a destination for visitors. The restaurants are top-notch, but there are several other attractions and shops that make this an easy one-day stop for a Hyundai owner looking to mix things up.

Antietam National Battlefield

Those in search of a little history can visit the battlefield of this famous Civil War battle. Seeing how gorgeous the countryside is now, it is hard to believe it once served as home to one of the bloodiest battles of the entire war.

Six Flags America

If what you want is excitement, Six Flags America is located in Upper Marlboro and provides plenty of fun for families who love theme parks. There are excellent rollercoasters and water rides here, plus yummy food and live entertainment.

Whether you drive a new or pre-owned Nissan model, there are plenty of spots right here in Maryland to keep you busy during the vacation season. As your Maryland Nissan dealer, we cannot recommend these spots strongly enough, so get out on that open road and make the most of this wonderful state we live in!
